Overview
The RAM® Trolling Motor Stabilizer – Tough-Claw™ (RAP-400-202U) provides a secure mounting solution to keep trolling motor shafts from jostling around when not in use. The RAM® Tough-Claw™ allows you to quickly secure the shaft without tools, and the included small Tough-Claw™ is compatible with round, square, and irregularly shaped rails or bars from 0.625" to 1.5" in outer diameter. This solution also includes a round ball base that can be drilled into your vessel using the 4-hole AMPS pattern for a stable mounting point. Built within the RAM® C size ecosystem, it features a 1.5" diameter patented ball-and-socket system with adjustment points at both ends of the double socket arm, providing nearly infinite positioning and optimal viewing angles.

Is there a lock for the tough claw on this kit?
No, we don't have a lock for the Tough Claws, but you can lock the double socket arm with either RAM-KNOB5LU or RAP-S-KNOB5U.

What size screws are needed for the holes on this ball plate?
The most common screw sizes are #8, #10, M4 and M5 screws. However, if you are pairing this with any RAM® Holder, the holder will come with the necessary hardware to connect to your mount.

Can I by the claw seperate?

Can you get this with a bow rail mount instead of the screw base?
Yes, but this is not available as a complete kit. If you select RAP-400U and RAM-201U, you can then pair these components with any C Size ball base that you can find here. You can select the proper Clamp Range filter on the left to narrow down the base options that will support the size of your rail.
