October 22, 2018
With the launch of the new rammount.com, we wanted to make finding exactly what you need as easy as possible. However, upwards of 5,000 different components makes that goal easier said than done.
Fortunately, the RAM® Mounts team was able to come up with the new RAM® Mount Builder tool. While the tool features more than 20,000 combinations of components, it’s extremely simple to use. Here’s how to quickly narrow down your search for the perfect mounting solution.
Step 1: Choose Your Device
The first step is choosing the type of device you need to mount. Start from this list:
- Fishing Rod
- Handheld Radio
- LED Spotlight
After picking your type of device, you’ll be prompted to select the make and model. For example, if you want to mount your iPhone XS, your path would be Phone > Apple > iPhone XS.
Step 2: Select Your Vehicle or Activity
Next, decide on the primary vehicle or activity where you’ll need a mount for your device. So if you’re looking for a way to mount your iPhone XS during your commute, chances are you’ll be choosing either ‘car’ or ‘truck’. Currently, you can pick from:
Step 3: Choose Your Desired Mounting Location
Depending on your vehicle or activity selection, the builder will serve up a variety of mounting locations. In the screenshot below, three locations are shown for mounting an iPhone XS in a car – windshield, dashboard, and cup holder.
Note: The builder will jump straight to the recommended mounting solution if there’s only one mounting location possible based on your previous choices.
Let the Mount Builder Serve Up the Recommended Part(s)
And just like that, the builder will show you the recommended part(s) for your ideal mounting solution. This has been carefully crafted to take each selection into consideration, so you can trust that the ball size and arm length are appropriate for your intended application.
From there, easily add to your cart or clickthrough to learn more about the product. If the solution wasn’t what you had in mind, you can click “Start Over” in the bottom right or adjust your selections by using the arrow at the top of the page.
