The RAM-B-224-1U suction cup base consists of a 3.3" diameter RAM® Twist-Lock™ suction cup connected to a RAM-B-238U diamond base with a 1" B size rubber ball. The RAM® Twist-Lock™ suction cup base is a fan favorite for use on vehicle windshields, and provides an extra strong hold on any smooth, nonporous surface. Complete your mount by attaching a B size RAM® double socket arm and device holder.

What surfaces is this suction cup compatible with?
Suction cups work by creating a vacuum, so they require an extremely smooth surface. If the surface is textured at all air can get in and the suction cup with loose grip. Suction cup mounts work best against windows and highly polished metal surfaces.

The overall height is approximately 2.992" from the top of the ball to the rubber of the suction cup.

Do these work inside cold storage rooms or at low temperatures in general?
The RAP-B-224-1U will maintain its hold in any environment that you'd be driving, but sudden temperature changes can cause the suction cup to lose hold. If that happens, just place the suction cup back on the windshield and re-engage the Twist Lock.
