Overview
The RAM-B-121-UN9U consists of a yoke clamp base, double socket arm, round adapter base and universal X-Grip® clamping cradle for 9"-11" tablets. The RAM yoke clamp mount will fit rails from 0.625" to a maximum of 1.25". The 1" rubber ball is at a right angle to the plane of the mount; when connected to a rail, the ball sits parallel to the rail. The mount is designed with a RAM 1" diameter patented rubber ball and socket system that has adjustment points at both ends of the double socket arm; this allowing for almost infinite adjustment and perfect viewing angles. The X-Grip® clamping cradle consists of a composite spring loaded cradle, expandable grip arms and additional bottom support keeper. Included are extra easy access grip knobs, located on the back of the cradle for quick release of your tablet. The X-Grip® clamping cradle expands and contracts for perfect fit of most 9"-11" tablets with or without sleeves, as well as some smaller tablets. Will this holder not work if the additional side supports do not fit my tablet?
In most cases this should not be an issue. The additional side supports are optional to keep your tablet secure in extreme, high vibration environments; or if you are supporting the tablet in portrait mode, it is recommended to install one of the supports to hold the bottom of the tablet.

How is it that this holder fits 9" - 10" tablets, yet it can also hold the iPad Pro 11"?
The 11 in iPad Pro 11 refers to the diagonal dimension of the screen display. Overall dimensions of this tablet are 9.74" x 7.02" x .23", which fits the dimension ranges of this holder. For all universal holders including the RAM® X-Grip®, it is a matter of cross referencing overall dimensions (L x W x D) when determining compatibility. Case dimensions will need to be taken into account if your tablet is in a case.

Does the holder allow for full rotation? More importantly, I just want to confirm that it can hold the ipad in portrait and landscape.
Yes, all you will have to do is loosen the double socket arm and adjust the position you would like. Then tighten the double socket arm back up to keep your desired position.

I need a iPad holder for a 10th generation iPad I can attach to my ram computer holder. Will one of those yoke clamp holders attach to the arm on my computer holder?
The outer diameter of that upper telepole is 1.32" so no, this will not work. You could use RAP-401-202U + RAM-HOL-UN9U.

This part says it has a maximum height of 10.25" (using optional supports). Is it possible to use this cradle with a tablet that is taller than that?
Yes, the maximum height listed only applies if you are using the optional side support arms. If you leave at least one of those arms off of the mount it will be able to support taller tablets.
