My iPad has functioned well as an EFB for the cockpit, eliminating the need to kill trees for approach plates and charts. The only issue was how to mount it so it would be in my scan during instrument approaches. Fortunately, RAM Mounting Systems came up with a cradle for the iPad that connects to a yoke clamp. Problem solved. Here are some shots of my iPad yoke mount. As far as I am concerned, RAM Mounting Systems are by far the best mounts out there. They make mounts for ATVs, motorcycles, autos and aircraft. In these photos the iPad is directly in front of the pilot, and during flight, the iPad does not block the panel in any way.
