I went on my first bike ride in four months a couple of weekends ago. The weather has been unseasonably warm, but only recently became warm enough for a bike ride. Forty degrees is warm enough to be outside for a long time, but not warm enough to be on a bicycle riding into a headwind. I had been itching to get out for a ride for several weeks. I had a brand new GPS receiver and mount I was eager to test out. I bought a Garmin eTrex 20 after becoming frustrated with my DeLorme Earthmate PN-30. That was an OK unit, but it just wasn’t as easy to use or as capable as the new Garmin eTrex line. I was pleased to discover RAM offered a new eTrex mount that would connect with the diamond-shaped base I was already using on my handlebars. I pre-ordered the mount from an online GPS vendor a few weeks before it was released. I felt kind of weird pre-ordering a GPS mount, but I wanted it and I knew it would be of good quality since it was RAM. The little roller wheel at the top makes it easy to get get the GPS receiver in and out of the mount. The mount also seems to hold the GPS receiver securely.
